Shakira partners with Fisher-Price for line of baby toys

The First Steps range will come out in November

Shakira has partnered with Fisher-Price for a line of baby toys.

The pop singer has worked on the First Steps range, which will be available next month. She has worked on six products, including alphabet blocks and a football which plays music, which is a tribute to her boyfriend FC Barcelona player Gerard Pique, reports Hollywood Reporter. Proceeds will go to Shakira’s Barefoot Foundation, which helps children in Colombia.

Earlier this year Shakira become the first person ever to pass 100 million “likes” on Facebook. The pop singer reached the milestone in July. This accolade followed her most “liked” picture of all time on Facebook, when a photo of her visiting Rio de Janeiro for the 2014 FIFA World Cup closing ceremony picked up more than 3.5 million likes over just four days.

Issuing a statement to mark the moment, Shakira said: “I am honored and humbled about reaching this milestone, because it’s one that’s purely about connecting with my fans from all parts of the globe. Social media and specifically Facebook has helped myself and other artists bridge the gap between the stage and the audience.”
