Shakira has announced that she’ll play her first UK show since 2010 later this year, as part of her El Dorado world tour.
The Colombian pop icon, 40, will play London’s O2 Arena on June 11 – her first show since she last played the venue, before making a triumphant debut at Glastonbury.
The one-off show comes after the release of latest album El Dorado, which was released in May last year and reached Number One on iTunes in 37 countries across the globe.
“I can’t wait to be onstage in London again singing along with all of you, all of your favourites and mine”, Shakira said of the show.
‘It’s going to be fun! The road to El Dorado starts now!”
It also comes as part of her European tour, which she was previously forced to postpone last year after suffering vocal cord damage.
“Unfortunately the hemorrhage doesn’t appear to have reabsorbed and my nightmare continues,” Shakira announced at the time.
“At the moment I find myself in a difficult battle as I try to fully recover.”
“It pains me not to be able to sing this month, for those have done even the impossible to get tickets and accompany me throughout the different countries of Europe.”
