Shaun Ryder announces UK and Ireland tour, one-off London club date – ticket details

He'll be joined by street magician Dynamo for a party in the capital

Shaun Ryder has confirmed a special warm-up show in London later this month ahead of a full UK tour this autumn.

The former Happy Mondays frontman will play a greatest hits set at The Queen Of Hoxton on October 14 to mark the fifth anniversary of the This Feeling club night. Support on the night will come from magician to the stars Dynamo.

The ‘Up Close And Personal’ tour kicks off on November 10 at Durham’s Live Lounge and ends December 23 at Reading’s Sub 89. It rounds off a busy year for the Madchester legend, as he released his memoirs ‘Twisting My Melon’ in September.

He admitted that he relied on old copies of NME to get his full story together thanks to a 16-year gap in his memory.

He told the the Daily Star:

The memories stop in 1990 and restart in 2006. Writing it did take a lot of time but we got it all right in the end. Of course, I never wrote a diary on the road so I had to look at old copies of the NME and newspapers and sort out what was what.
