Former US President BILL CLINTON turned down an opportunity to see friend Sheryl Crow
in concert last night (March 20) at a low-key LONDON show, her first in the capital for four years., NME.COM can reveal.
had extended the invitation to Clinton and daughter Chelsea and despite murmurs during the gig at the Scala in King’ s Cross that they were lurking backstage, the pair made a no-show. However, NME.COM has learned that Bill Clinton went along to visit Sheryl Crow later at her Covent Garden hotel.
Singer/songwriter Sheryl Crow played the several hundred capacity Scala show as part of a whistle-stop promotional tour for new album ‘C’mon, C’mon’, released in the UK on April 8. The star played a 90-minute set mixing familiar hits like ‘All I Wanna Do’, ‘A Change Would Do You Good’ and ‘If It Makes You Happy’, with a slew of new tracks including ‘Steve McQueen’ and forthcoming single ‘Soak Up The Sun’. Unlike at her recent LA show when Crow invited superstar pals such as Gwyneth Paltrow onstage to jam, last night she had just her band for company. However, Counting Crows frontman Adam Duritz was in attendance.
Meanwhile, tomorrow (March 22) Sheryl Crow is recording a number of songs for future broadcast on CD:UK, and NME.COM is offering fans the chance to along and watch her.
