Sigur Ros to guest star in ‘The Simpsons’

The Icelandic band will also contribute new music to the season finale

Sigur Ros are set to guest in a forthcoming episode of The Simpsons.

The band will feature in the season finale of the long-running cartoon’s 24th series, which will see the show visiting Iceland. They have also composed original music for the episode.

Consequence Of Sound reports that the two part show will see the character of Carl Carlson visiting his native Iceland.


The two part episode – entitled The Saga Of Carl Carlson – will air on May 19 in North America.

Sigur Ros join a long list of musicians who have made a guest appearance in the series including Tom Waits, Daft Punk, Smashing Pumpkins, The White Stripes, Red Hot Chili Peppers, U2, Lady Gaga, Sonic Youth and The Decemberists – pictured.

Sigur Ros release their brand new album, ‘Kveikur’, on June 17. The band will support the release with a short UK and Ireland arena tour, which will include their biggest ever UK headline show to date at London’s Wembley Arena on November 21.
