Duo announce new album 'Welcome to Sideways'

Simian Mobile Disco have announced a new album ‘Welcome to Sideways’, sharing new song ‘Far Away From A Distance’.

The album is set to be released on November 11, on Delicacies. ‘Far Away From A Distance’ will be released as a 12 inch on September 20, with a remix by Lena Willikens on the B-side.

The record will also include ‘Welcome to Sideways (A Delicacies Mix)’; an hour-long DJ mix that includes album cuts, as well as “extra edits and loops from non-album material and remixes of the singles,” according to a press release.

Speaking of ‘Welcome to Sideways’ on Facebook, the band said “Like our previous Delicacies album, [Welcome to Sideways] is aimed squarely at the dancefloor.”

The duo released their last album ‘Whorl’ in September 2014, which was the follow-up to their 2012 album ‘Unpatterns.’

Parts of ‘Whorl’ were recorded live, without computers, in front of an audience of 900 people at Californian venue Pappy & Harriet’s on April 26 in 2014.
