The two solo stars get set to batttle it out...

SISQO has emerged as an early contender to knock ROBBIE WILLIAMS from the top of the UK single charts this week.

As reported yesterday on NME.COM (July 15), Williams‘ double A-side single ‘Eternity/The Road To Mandalay’ entered the chart at Number One, with Eminem‘s proteges D-12 following at Number Two with their controversial ‘Purple Hills’ single.

Of this week’s new releases, a chart expert at HMV in London predicted that Sisqo‘s single ‘Dance For Me’ should enter the charts within the Top Three.

He commented: “It’s our ‘Single of the Week’ and the song has plenty of backing but it will be a close battle because Robbie is playing live this week as well.”

Elsewhere, other Top Ten entries are expected for U2, who release ‘Elevation’, Mariah Carey, who releases ‘Loverboy’ and UK garage act Oxide & Neutrino, who release their new single ‘Devil’s Nightmare’.

Elsewhere, Sugababes release ‘Soul Sound’, Cast release their comeback single ‘Desert Drought’ and Ricky Martin releases a new single titled ‘Loaded’.
