A show by R&B star Sisqo in PHOENIX, ARIZONA, ended in a shoot-out, with one teenager being shot in the leg.
According to newspaper The Arizona Republic, the fracas erupted over the high cost of the show at The Power Plant nightclub on Monday (June 4), where people were being charged $30 for parking on top of ticket prices.
A spokesperson for Phoenix police, who are investigating the incident, said two youths who were injured – Derrick McCrayton, who was shot, and another unidentified 17-year-old who was injured in the underarms after trying to scale a fence – were “investigative leads”, which means they could be charged.
Both were taken to Maryvale Hospital Medical Centre by friends, where they were treated and released.
The security guards, who claim they came under gunfire from a crowd of eight or nine young people, allegedly returned shots. The police spokesperson said the guards were not considered investigative leads because “they were out there doing their job”.
Sisqo, who supported *N Sync in the city on Monday and Tuesday nights, was on stage at the time of the shooting and was rushed away from the club in a limousine.
