Sisqo performed his early ’00s hit ‘Thong Song’ at his own wedding reception, it has been reported.
The R&B artist, whose real name is Mark Althavan Andrews, released the track back in 2000. It featured on his debut album ‘Unleash the Dragon‘ and reached Number 3 in the UK Singles Chart.
The performance was described as a “lively choreographed rendition”, with Sisqo later releasing a statement to his local paper explaining his decision to sing the track.
“I initially sang ‘Thong Song’ about the first thong that I ever saw,” he reasoned (via SPIN), “so it was only right to sing it about the last one I will ever see… in private, that is.”
Unfortunately, footage of the moment has not yet surfaced.
Reporter Delane Cleveland told The Baltimore Sun that he went to school with Sisqo and described the wedding as “fantastic”. He also confirmed the live airing of ‘Thong Song’ on Twitter.
I can report that Sisqo just performed “Thong Song” at his wedding reception in St. Paul. And it was fantastic.

“I took the day off work today to go to Sisqo’s wedding,” he posted previously. “(File this under the category of ‘things I never thought I’d say in my life’).”

Last year, Sisqo returned with an EDM reboot of the classic track. “I’ve been asked so many times over the years to make a new version of ‘Thong Song’ and I have declined every time until I heard the new version that JCY did,” Sisqo said at the time. “I thought it was dope and figured maybe it was time to put some new rims on the Bugatti.”
