Guitarist also set to announce gig in his former hometown
Slash has congratulated Stoke City on their FA Cup semi final win over Bolton Wanderers on Sunday (April 17), but has said he unfortunately won’t be able to attend the final.
Tweeting via Twitter.com/slash, the former Guns N’ Roses guitarist wrote: “I got up to find that the satellite channel the match was on I don’t subscribe to! But I hear Stoke won 5/zip! Congrats Stoke City!”
The guitarist added that he wouldn’t be attending the final against Manchester City next month, but explained that he is planning to play a gig in the city.
“Unfortunately, I won’t be able to make it to Wembley next month,” he wrote, “but I’m definitely playing Stoke in July.”
Slash grew up in the Midlands town, then moved to Los Angeles at the age of 11. He has admitted that he has not been back to the UK city for some time.
Details of the gig are set to be announced later this week.
