Slaves cover Skepta’s ‘Shutdown’ during Live Lounge appearance – watch

Slaves have covered grime MC Skepta’s ‘Shutdown’ during a Radio 1 Live Lounge session recorded earlier today (May 7).

The band covered the song, which was officially released by Skepta earlier this month, while appearing on Fearne Cotton’s mid-morning show. Immediately after the performance ended Cotton congratualted the band on their cover and said: That was glorious, I loved everything about that.” Slaves also performed their song ‘The Hunter’ during the radio session.

The duo, who release debut album ‘Are You Satisfied?’ on June 1, kicked off their UK tour in Portsmouth this week (May 5). See the dates in full below. Slaves were recently one of four bands on the NME Awards Tour 2015 with Austin, Texas, alongside headliners Palma Violets, Fat White Family and The Wytches.
