The TATTOO THE PLANET metal festival set for this weekend will go ahead in the UK as planned, organisers say, despite at least two of the headliners being stuck in the US as a result of terrorist atrocities in NEW YORK and WASHINGTON.
Both Static X and Slayer are in are still in the States. Static X are understood to be in Los Angeles. Both acts are due to join the rolling revue, which kicks off in Dublin’s Point Depot tomorrow (September 13) before moving to Birmingham’s NIA on Friday (14) ,London Wembley Arena (15) and Glasgow SECC (16).
A spokesperson for Tattoo The Planet promoters Helter Skelter insisted the event would go ahead as planned. However, no announcement has been made as to when international flights from the US will resume and neither Slayer nor Static X have provided any indication yet about whether or not they wish to travel.
Pantera, Cradle Of Filth, Biohazard and Raging Speedhorn are amongst the others set to appear.
