Slipknot fan dies after heart attack at Iowa show

CPR fails to revive 29 year-old man

A Slipknot fan has died after suffering a heart attack at one of the metal band’s gigs in Iowa.

Corey Nickels, 29, collapsed on the concourse level of the Mid-America Center at 10:30pm (CST) on Sunday night (January 25) after watching the band, suffering cardiac arrest as rescue staff attended to him, reports Nonpareilonline.com.

The fan was pronounced dead at the Jennie Edmundson Hospital after CPR failed to revive him.

Autopsy results are pending. Friends said Nickels had a history of heart problems in his family.

The incident is not the first time a fan has died from a heart attack at a gig by the band. In 2004 Alecia Holst suffered a heart attack at one of the band’s shows in Detroit and died four days later.
