Murderdolls and Stone Sour, both side projects of the masked rockers, join forces...

MURDERDOLLS and STONE SOUR are set to tour together in the UK this July, before SLIPKNOT start recording their third album.

Despite being a ‘double headline’ show, Murderdolls will close each of the performances, which kick off at Nottingham Rock City on July 8. They will also play a solo gig at Cardiff University the night before. (July 7)

Stone Sour’s Corey Taylor and Jim Root, along with Joey Jordison from Murderdolls will return to Slipknot and record the follow-up to 2001’s ‘Iowa’ in August. It is expected for release in early 2004.

Jordison said: “Murderdolls played with Stone Sour in Des Moines on New Years Eve and we had a blast. When we started booking our UK headline tour, we thought let’s give them a call and see if they wanted to join up…This will be the last tour this year for Murderdolls and Stone Sour before we go back to Slipknot, so why not go out on top creating mayhem and destroying clubs together!”

Stone Sour’s Taylor said, “The UK is going to fucking burn under the sheer power… It is an honour and a privilege to wreak havoc over there again.”

Both bands will also be releasing new singles to coincide with the tour – Stone Sour’s ‘Inhale’ on July 7 and Murderdolls’ version of Billy Idol’s 1985 hit ‘White Wedding’ on July 14.

The dates are:

Cardiff University (July 7) (Murderdolls only)

Nottingham Rock City (8)

Birmingham Academy (9)

Glasgow Barrowlands (10)

Manchester Apollo (11)

London Brixton Academy (12)
