BLUE SUNDAY!

Slipknot take the album crown, just ahead of The Strokes...

Boyband BLUE have gone straight in at Number One on the UK singles chart this week (September 3) with ‘TOO CLOSE’.

However, the real battle was fought on the album chart where SLIPKNOT went in at One with ‘IOWA’, only just keeping THE STROKES at Two with ‘IS THIS IT’.

In a week of many new entries, Uncle Kracker went in at Three with ‘Follow Me’, one place above Louise at Four with ‘Stuck In The Middle’. Spice Girl Emma Bunton also showed strongly, charting at five with ‘Take My Breath Away’.

On down the chart, The Charlatans returned at 16 with ‘Love Is The Key’, two places above ‘I’m All About You’ by MC Luck and DJ Neat.

On the albums, Five were kept to third position with comeback album ‘Kingsize’, three above veterans New Order at Six with ‘Get Ready’. Bjork returned with ‘Vespertine’ at Eight, three above Mercury Rev at 11 with ‘All Is Dream’.
