Slipknot’s Corey Taylor’s Stone Sour announce new two-part double concept album

Singer reveals his side project's extremely ambitious plans for their fourth studio album 'House Of Gold And Bones'

Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor has revealed that his other band Stone Sour will release a two-part double concept album over the next two years, which is titled ‘House Of Gold And Bones’.

The band released their third effort ‘Audio Secrecy’ in 2010 and toured extensively in support of that album. They have spent the last five months recording and Taylor, who played an acoustic set at this weekend’s Download Festival, has now revealed full details of their future plans.

Taylor, who had previously tweeted the cryptic phrase ‘HoGaB’, unveiled the full details of the hugely ambitious project on his official Twitter page Twitter.com/CoreyTaylorRock.

He wrote: “I promised today you’d get the explanation to HoGaB. Well, today that’s exactly what you get. The new Stone Sour album is a two-part double concept album called ‘House of Gold and Bones’ (HoGaB), parts 1 and 2. Part 1 will drop in October 2012. Part 2 will drop next year. 24 songs, 12 on each disc.”

He went on to add: “Each disc will include one half of the story – for lyrics, you’ll have to visit our site. Once I lock in the company who will help me put it together, there will be a comic book as well. Song titles include ‘Absolute Zero’, ‘RU486’, ‘A Rumor Of Skin’ and ‘Taciturn’. Very excited for everyone to hear it! Stay tuned!”

It’s been a busy week for Taylor as Slipknot revealed yesterday (June 11) their new ‘Best Of’ compilation ‘Antennas To Hell’.
The collection, which will be released on July 23 in the UK and July 24 in the US, features a total of 19 tracks, including classic singles ‘Wait And Bleed’, ‘Left Behind’, ‘Duality’ and ‘Psychosocial’.

The album, which is comprised of tracks from across Slipknot’s four studio albums as well as remixes and live cuts, also comes with package notes on their career, a CD of a live show at 2009’s Download Festival and a series of video montages of Slipknot.

Slipknot recently announced plans for their own ‘Knotfest’ festival, due to take place this summer.

The event will see the band heading up two bills on August 17 and 18, the first in their native Iowa and the second in Somerset, which is on the Wisconsin/Minnesota border.
