Are Smash Mouth and Car Seat Headrest set to collaborate?

This is... a weird one

It looks like ‘All Star’ hitmakers Smash Mouth and indie-rock cult hero Car Seat Headrest are readying the year’s strangest collaboration.

The news comes via Smash Mouth’s Twitter account and US radio station Sirius XMU, after the group shared a picture of Car Seat Headrest’s Will Toledo and Smash Mouth guitarist and songwriter Greg Camp (below).

No word yet on exactly what the collaboration will entail, but all will be revealed this Thursday (February 15). Check out the image of the two songwriters below.

Back in July, it was revealed that Morrissey is also a fan of Smash Mouth.

The US band spoke to Stereogum to mark their 20th anniversary as a band, when they revealed that they once met the former Smiths frontman and that he was “very complimentary” about them.

“We just did a show in Guadalajara, Mexico, the Roxy Fest, with Morrissey, which was super, super cool,” frontman Steve Harwell explained.

Asked if the band met Moz himself, Harwell replied: “Yeah! It was brief. But super weird and cool. He was great.” On whether Morrissey was a Smash Mouth fan, the singer added: “Yeah, he was very complimentary toward us.”
