SMASHING PUMPKINS ‘GREATEST HITS’ will be released as a limited edition double album with a B-sides compilation as the bonus disc.
The tracklisting for the main album is currently being decided by the band. However, a spokesperson for the band’s former label Virgin Records told NME.COM that the record will be accompanied by a second album titled ‘Judas O Riley’.
‘Judas O’ Riley’ is the follow-up to the group’ s 1994 B-sides release ‘Pisces Iscariot’, and will include B-sides and rarities culled from the band’s sessions, which produced the ‘Melon Collie And The Infinite Sadness’, ‘Adore’, and ‘MACHINA/The Machines of God’ albums.
The artwork for the new album is set to feature new photographs of the band, and a DVD release will also feature the band’s videos and a band documentary.
Lead singer Billy Corgan is currently working on new material, while guitarist James Iha is currently working on music for film and television, amongst other projects.
