Ex-Smashing Pumpkins bassist D’ARCY WRETZKY has had charges of cocaine possession against her dropped after completing drug prevention classes.

As reported on nme.com last February, D’Arcy was ordered to participate in a drug education programme after being arrested in Chicago on January 25 for alleged possession of crack cocaine.

At the time she was given two months to complete the programme, which is the US standard punishment for first-time, non-violent drug offenders.

According to reports from the US on [url=]www.sonicnet.com, the charges were dropped last Friday (May 19), after a hearing at the Cook County District Court in Chicago. D’Arcy did not attend the hearing.

D’Arcy left the Smashing Pumpkins in September last year, to be replaced by ex-Hole bassist Melissa Auf Der Maur. Since leaving the group, D’Arcy has been attempting to forge an acting career, and is to appear with Mickey Rourke in the forthcoming movie ‘Pieces Of Ronnie’.
