He was previously Senior Producer of Creative and Talent Development at Impact Ventures
Smashing Pumpkins‘ Billy Corgan has been named the President of wrestling business Impact Ventures.
Last year, the frontman was given the post of Senior Producer of Creative and Talent Development at the company.
Now, he will lead “day-to-day operations for Impact and its affiliated brands”, including Impact and TNA Wrestling.
As Consequence Of Sound reports, Corgan said in a press release that he is “committed to this great opportunity and will use all of my resources and connections to drive the success of this company.
“This year we have made significant strides in establishing a strong foundation for our future and will be aggressive in continuing to evolve and grow the IMPACT brands.”
Current President Dixie Carter, who is moving to the position of Chairman and CSO, said: “Billy is a visionary, an iconic artist and savvy businessman with an incredibly gifted creative mind. He has built a decades-long successful global brand, and also has a deep passion and understanding for professional wrestling.
Recently, Corgan hinted that a full reunion of the classic Smashing Pumpkins line-up was on the cards, with reports suggesting he’d been trying to sell that angle to book gigs and festivals.
