Corgan previously worked with Hook in 2001, appearing on New Order’s ‘Get Ready’ album. He also supported the band on tour later that year.

Smashing Pumpkins recently confirmed details of their new album ‘Monuments To An Elegy’. The record features drumming by Mötley Crüe’s Tommy Lee and follows on from 2012’s ‘Oceania’, which was the band’s first LP in five years. ‘Monuments To An Elegy’ will be released on December 9 and is the first of two upcoming albums.

In the same interview Corgan denies rumours that he will disband the group after the two upcoming albums. Clarifying his statement, Corgan said: “All I’m saying is audiences are not interested in buying rock albums in large quantities any more any more and the music industry refuses to adapt to that. It doesn’t frustrate me because I’ll just move on to something else.”

Peter Hook has recently been touring North America with his new band Peter Hook And The Light, performing New Order albums “Low-Life” and “Brotherhood” in full.
