Smashing Pumpkins announce new 30th anniversary tour dates

The shows coincide with the release of the band's first album since 200 that features the group's original lineup

Smashing Pumpkins have announced a string of new shows to mark 30 years since the band’s formation.

The anniversary tour begins in late November, with shows in the US including in Madison, Wisconsin and Phoenix, Arizona. Other destinations include the band’s hometown of Chicago, St. Louis, and San Antonio.

The band recently finished their reunion tour in promotion of their forthcoming album, ‘Shiny and Oh So Bright, Vol. 1 / LP: No Past. No Future. No Sun’ (released on November 16).

To date, the band have shared the singles ‘Solara’ and ‘Silvery Sometimes (Ghosts)’ from the record.

The ‘Shiny and Oh So Bright Tour’ marked the frontman Billy Corgan, bassist James Iha, and guitarist Jimmy Chamberlin’s first tour dates together in two decades.

During the tour, the Pumpkins staged a special 30th anniversary concert in Holmdel, New Jersey, which featured appearances from Courtney Love, Deftones frontman Chino Moreno, Peter Hook of Joy Division/New Order, and more.

Tickets to the newly announced dates go on sale Friday, October 5.
