Rapper becomes the first musician to join wrestling elite
Snoop Dogg will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame later this year.
He joins fellow celebrity inductess including Pete Rose, Mike Tyson and Arnold Schwarzenegger. Snoop Dogg is the first musician to join the Hall of Fame.
Snoop’s relationship dates back years and he was seen joining Hulk Hogan to toss Curtis Axel over the top rope at the go-home show at last year’s WrestleMania. He has also served as Master of Ceremonies at WresleMania XXIV and guest-hosting Raw in 2009.
The Hall of Fame Ceremony takes place at the America Airlines Center, Dallas on April 2, the night before Wrestle Mania 32. As well as Snoop Dogg, Sting, the Godfather, the Fabulous Freebirds, Big Boss Man, Jacqueline and Stan Hansen will also be inducted.
The rapper may be making more than just the one appearance over the weekend. Wrestler Sasha Banks, who is also Snoop’s cousin, hinted in a Rolling Stone interview that he could also be involved in her Triple Threat Match for the Diva’s Championship, most likely to perform as she makes her way to the ring.
Meanwhile, WWE tag-team champions The New Day paid a memorable tribute to A Tribe Called Quest’s Phife Dawg, following his death last week.
