Petition supporters for Snoop Dogg-hosted Planet Earth soar to 35,000

The petition has gained 30,000 supporters in the past two days

Supporters for the petition launched two weeks ago requesting that rapper Snoop Dogg narrate a whole season of BBC nature documentary series Planet Earth have soared by more than 30,000 in the last two days.

The much-loved nature programme is currently presented by David Attenborough, but some fans have called on Dogg to be given a stint after he recorded voiceovers to footage from the show for a segment on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Watch a clip below.

The petition currently has 36,470 supporters, up 35,000 from two days ago (January 28). It reads, “Snoop Dogg has narrated some Planet Earth in the past but yo we need him to narrate full episodes. Sign the petition if you agree.”

It has received support from Snoop himself, who posted the below tweet saying, “Who made this? Let’s get this shit going. Who want more Plizzanet Earth?”

Meanwhile, it was recently reported that Snoop Dogg has launched own cannabis company called ‘Leafs By Snoop’.

The Colorado-based company will sell “the finest quality cannabis one could imagine”, according to a press statement.

“Wherever my musical journey has taken me around the world, it’s beautiful to see how chronic leafs are a common source of peace, love and soul that connects us all,” Snoop Dogg says in a statement on the company’s official website.

Leafs By Snoop products will be sold at licensed Colorado cannabis shop LivWell before being introduced at other stores. The state of Colorado legalised both medical and recreational use of marijuana in 2012.
