The song is taken from the rapper's forthcoming reggae album 'Reincarnated'

Snoop Lion, aka Snoop Dogg, has released new track ‘Lighters Up’ – you can listen to it below.

Snoop, who recently changed his name to Snoop Lion to coincide with his new reggae direction, has enlisted the help of Mavado and Popcaan for the song, which is taken from his forthcoming LP ‘Reincarnated’.

‘Lighters Up’ is the latest taster from the album after Snoop previewed the track ‘Here Comes The King’ earlier this month (December 4) and ‘La La La’, which was released last month (November 1).

The rapper, who recently said that he doesn’t have to justify his change in direction as he has complete freedom in his creative direction, will release ‘Reincarnated’ in February. It will also feature a documentary explaining his new direction. “If I just drop this music, it leaves room for questioning,” he said. “You wouldn’t understand the whole journey or the transformation. When I allow you to see the movie, to go on the journey with me, to see exactly why I’m the Lion.”

Snoop Lion recently played his first live show in Toronto, Canada which featured cuts from Bob Marley’s ‘Could You Be Loved’ and ‘Iron Lion Zion’.
