Snoop Dogg reworks ‘Drop It Like It’s Hot’ for bizarre microwaveable snack advert

The rapper says he's 'got some cheesy drizzle/dripping on my shizzle' in the Hot Pockets ad

Snoop Dogg has re-recorded his 2004 single ‘Drop It Like It’s Hot’ to soundtrack an advert for US microwaveable snack food Hot Pockets.

The new version of the song is called ‘Pocket Like It’s Hot’. Click above to watch the rapper, who is now known as Snoop Lion, performing the track in the full length music video style ad alongside fellow rappers DeStorm Power and Andy Milonakis.

The track features Snoop rapping the lyrics: “Home with kids in the crib ma/Pocket like it’s hot…/When the craving’s got a hold of you/Pocket like it’s hot…/And your munchies get a attitude/Pocket like it’s hot…/I’ve got the pockets in my arms/Setting off smoke alarms/And I eat ’em smoking hot/’Cause I got it goin’ on.”

He later declares that he’s “got some cheesy drizzle/dripping on my shizzle.”

Snoop Dogg recently changed his stage name to Snoop Lion, following a journey to Jamaica. He was given the name by a Rastafarian priest. It comes from the Lion on the Imperial Ethiopian flag, which is important to Rastafarians as it represents former Ethiopian Emperor Haile Selassie.

Snoop said at a New York press conference that he believes he is the reincarnation of singer Bob Marley and added: “I didn’t want to be Snoop Dogg on a reggae track… I wanted to bury Snoop Dogg and become Snoop Lion, but I didn’t know that until I went to the temple and received the name Snoop Lion from the Nyabingi priest.”

Snoop Dogg teamed up with Diplo to release a reggae single, titled ‘La La La’, and will put out his ‘Reincarnated’ reggae album later this year.
