Snow Patrol rock Latitude

On first night of Suffolk festival

Snow Patrol closed the first day of The Latitude Festival in spectacular style yesterday (July 14).

With Gary Lightbody sporting his newly shorn locks, Snow Patrol played a greatest hits set, including many songs from their last album ‘Eyes Open’.

During ‘Run’ Lightbody stopped singing halfway through, letting the enthusiastic crowd take over.

After Top Ten hit ‘You’re All I Have’ the band left the stage, only to reappear to rapturous applause.

The band closed their set with ‘Open Your Eyes’ and ‘Tiny Little Fractures’.

Earlier in the evening, The Zutons played a slick and lively set including opener ‘Why Won’t You Give Me Your Love’ and ‘Pressure Point’.

The biggest cheers of the evening were reserved for current hit ‘Valerie’ and older single ‘You Will You Won’t’.

The Liverpudlians ended with their trademark instrumental jam ‘Zutonkhamuun’.

On the smaller Uncut Arena, The Pipettes , dressed in their trademark polka dot dresses, led the crowd in mass clapping and dancing. Their set included ‘Dirty Mind’ ‘Pull Shapes’ and ‘One Night Stand’.

Tonight The Latitude Festival is headlined by Antony And The Johnsons and Patti Smith.
