Snow Patrol members to go solo?

Gary Lightbody plans electro album

Snow Patrol singer Gary Lightbody and guitarist Nathan Connolly are planning solo records.

Lightbody is currently working on solo material which, he says, will have an electro feel.

Speaking to the BBC show Across The Line the said: “There might be something in the sidelines in that respect, you know. I know Nathan wants to make an album of his own and I’m going to go off and do something on my own in January.”

The singer stressed that this didn’t mean the end of the band. He said: “We’ll always be together – just like the end of ‘Grease’.”

Guitarist Connolly said that his solo album would be “melodic”. He said: “I don’t know what it’ll end up as. It’ll be melodic and tuneful but we’ll see what happens when I finally get round to doing it.”

The band will begin their UK and Irish tour tonight (November 28) at Birmingham’s NIA venue.

They will play:

Birmingham NIA (November 28)

Manchester MEN Arena (29)

Newcastle Metro Radio Arena (30)

Manchester G-MEX (December 14, 15)

Glasgow SECC (16)

London Wembley Arena (18, 19)

Belfast Odyssey Arena (21)
