The garage collective play their first date since their entire UK tour was pulled in controversial circumstances...

So Solid Crew are to play a one-off show this coming weekend (January 12/13) secret LONDON location – the garage collective’s first and only since their UK tour was pulled in controversial circumstances in December.

Details of location and exact time of the show are being not being revealed. Tickets for the show can only be won by listeners of Jo Whiley’s show from 10am-1pm and Steve Lamacq’s Evening Session on BBC Radio 1 all this week. The show will be broadcast on the Evening Session on January 14.

The gig is sure to garner plenty of attention. So Solid Crew had been due to play a sold-out tour of the UK throughout late November and into December last year until promoters and police began to pull shows over fears of violence and public safety. The tour had looked in doubt from the moment two men were shot and hospitalised at a So Solid Crew show at the London Astoria on October 30.

“Obviously the cancellation of the tour last year was a big disappointment. So we’re looking forward to this… Radio 1 session which gives us a chance to give something back to our supporters.” said Megaman, nominal leader of the 30-strong crew. br>
