The star faces a custodial sentence after plaeading guilty to firearms charges...

So Solid Crew member ASHER D is behind bars this afternoon (March 4) after pleading guilty to firearms charges at SOUTHWARK CROWN COURT in LONDON.

The rapper, real name Ashley Walters, was remanded in custody and warned by Judge Geoffrey Rivlin QC that he faces a custodial sentence when he returns to court. He is due back on March 25 after pre-sentence reports are compiled. Walters faces a maximum of ten years in prison.

The rapper, from Peckham, south London, was charged after an incident involving a traffic warden in July last year in Hanover Square, London. He had a loaded Brocock revolver in his parked car. He admitted a single offence of possession of a prohibited firearm, but denied using the weapon to threaten traffic warden Olufemi Onafeko. His counsel, Simon Pentol asked the Judge to grant his client £10,000 bail. “There are compelling reasons for allowing him bail,” he said. “He has two young children with his girlfriend who is here today. Plainly, there will be an upheaval at at home but if they can be allowed to prepare for that it would plainly seem the best option for those who have committed no crime.”

Judge Rivlin refused the bail request and said: “The defendant’s plea of not guilty to threatening with a firearm has been accepted. Nevertheless, he pleads guilty to an extremely serious offence – having in his possession a loaded gun which was capable of being lethal.

Walker’s girlfriend Natalie Williams, the mother of his two year old son and seven month ld daughter, burst into tears as the judge said: “This offence is so serious that a substantial custodial sentence must be inevitable.

She ran to the dock to plant a kiss on the glass parition as her boyfriend was led away to start his remand sentence at a young offender’s institution.
