it's been 20 years since they split - but the group are back with a new album very soon...

ROBYN HITCHCOCK is reforming THE SOFT BOYS 20 years after their spilt.

Hitchcock’s influential group will re-release their 1980 album ‘Underwater Moonlight’ on Matador on March 12, with bonus tracks and an extra CD of unreleased rehearsal sessions.

The ‘Underwater Moonlight’ era line-up of Hitchcock, along with Kimberley Rew (guitar), Matthew Seligman (bass) and Morris Windsor (drums), will tour North America and Europe to coincide with the re-release.

The group, who formed in Cambridge in 1976, disintegrated in 1981. Hitchcock launched a successful solo career, his last album being 1999’s ‘Jewels For Sophia’. Rew went on to form Katrina and the Waves.
