Solange has seen sales of her music increase following the leaking of footage which appeared to show her attacking her brother-in-law Jay Z in a lift earlier this month.
Hiphop DX writes that according to Nielsen SoundScan data for the week ending May 18, the singer’s Stateside sales were at 2,000, up from 600 the previous week, making for a 233 per cent increase.
Meanwhile, on May 17 in New Orleans, Beyoncé and Solange posed together for the first time since footage leaked of the fight, which took place at the Standard Hotel in New York at an after-party for the annual Met Gala on May 5.
Jay Z, Beyoncé and Solange released a statement about the incident. Issued on behalf of all three parties, it read “Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred”. They describe it as an “unfortunate incident”.
Meanwhile, a star-studded trailer for Beyoncé and Jay Z’s joint US summer tour was revealed last weekend. The three-and-a-half-minute promo for a fictional film entitled Run sees guest appearances from actors Sean Penn, Don Cheadle, Jake Gyllenhaal, Blake Lively, Rashida Jones, Emmy Rossum and more, with Jay Z and Beyoncé appearing as a Bonnie and Clyde-style criminal couple.
