Son Volt are set to release their third album, ‘Wide Swing Tremolo’, on October 5.
The album, released through Warner Bros, contains the following tracks: ‘Straightface’, ‘Driving The View’, ‘Jodel’, ‘Medicine Hat’, ‘Strands’, ‘Flow’, ‘Dead Man’s Clothes’, ‘Right On Through’, ‘Chanty’, ‘Carry You Down’, ‘Question’, ‘Streets That Time Walks’, ‘Hanging Blue Side’, and ‘Blind Hope’.
Son Volt were formed by Jay Farrar following the disintegration of grunge-country pioneers Uncle Tupelo, who also boasted Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy in the ranks. The new album is rumoured to be more electric than the band’s 1997 effort ‘Straightaways’.
There are no details of any UK dates, though the band are embarking on a 13-date tour of the US through October.
