The ‘Crank That’ artist – real name DeAndre Cortez Way – was speaking on The Breakfast Club when he posed the question as to why Meek Mill had a bigger comeback than himself. In response, host Charlamagne Tha God said that Mill’s success could have been down to his ‘beef’ with the ‘Scorpion’ star.
After Soulja boy was told that Drake is “the biggest rapper in the world”, he got up from his chair and vented his frustrations over the airwaves. “Draaake?” he said in disbelief. “The n**** that got bodied by Pusha T? The n**** that’s hiding his kid from the world, but the world won’t hide from the kid. Aubrey Graham in the wheelchair?
“Drake?! Y’all n****s better stop playing with me in here. Y’all talking about the light-skinned n**** from [Degrassi]?”
Claiming that he’s personally responsible for Drake’s success, Soulja Boy added: “Stop playing with me like I didn’t teach Drake everything he know. You didn’t hear Drake on his first song – [singing] ‘Tell me what’s really going on / Drizzy Drake back in this thing / I’m ready / What’s happenin’?‘
“That’s Soulja! That’s my bar! He copied my whole fucking flow! Word-for-word! Bar-for-bar!”
Soulja Boy was drawing parallels between Drake’s 2010 single ‘Miss Me’ and his own track ‘Kiss Me Thru The Phone’, released in 2008.
Meanwhile, The Weeknd has also seemingly dissed Drake in his new single ‘Lost In The Fire’. The lyrics, “I just want a baby with the right one/ ’Cause I would never be the one to hide one” appear to reference Drake’s son with former adult movie actress Sophie Brussaux.
In other news, Soulja Boy was involved in a “very bad” car crash recently after getting caught up in flash floods and mudslides in Malibu. “My car got stuck too almost went into the ocean,” he told his Twitter followers of his accident.
