Now, reports suggest that Cornell’s Soundgarden bandmates Kim Thayil and Matt Cameron will appear at Denmark’s Northside Festival on June 8.
It would be the first time Thayil and Cameron have performed together since Cornell’s passing. Soundgarden bassist Ben Shepherd is not expected to join them for the performance.
Last year, Cameron paid tribute to Cornell on Facebook. “My dark knight is gone,” he wrote. “Thank you for the incredible outpouring of kindness and love.”
It was previously reported that Soundgarden were working on a new album prior to Cornell’s death. Thayil had told Billboard that the band had been slowly working on a follow-up to 2012’s ‘King Animal’.
Saying that there had been “a couple years of intermittent songwriting sessions”, Thayil added that there were “some songs that [had] been demoed”.
