The 'Broad City' actor later forgets the name of the band during a chat show appearance
‘Broad City’ actor and comedian Hannibal Buress appeared on stage with Speedy Ortiz at SXSW in Austin, Texas yesterday.
Buress tweeted yesterday “I’m in Austin and i will play drums in your band tomorrow between 12-5pm. I can’t play drums. It’ll be bad”, to which the group replied “hey @hannibalburess yr cordially invited to drum with speedy ortiz at the @pitchfork showcase at @mohawkaustin, 1 pm. or we could get pizza”.
The actor joined Speedy Ortiz for their final track at the Pitchfork showcase, with Buress apologising for his performance afterwards. Watch the full performance below.
Buress later appeared on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ where he discussed the incident and forgot the band’s name in the process. Watch that clip beneath.
Speedy Ortiz, who formed in 2011 in Northampton, Massachusetts, released their second album ‘Major Arcana’ in 2013, with the ‘Real Hair EP’ following it last year. They’ll release their third album ‘Foil Deer’ on April 21.
