Staind to release ‘fresh’ new album ‘Seven’ later this year

Band to make their Atlantic Records debut with 2011 release

Staind have announced that they will release their new album ‘Seven’ later this year through Atlantic Records.

The band, who recently parted ways with drummer Jon Wysocki, updated fans on the new release in an interview with Michigan-based radio station Wgrd 97.9. Listen to the interview by clicking below.

“It’s a modern-sounding version of a heavy Staind record,” guitarist Mike Mushok explained. “It’s completely different than the last record [2008’s ‘The Illusion Of Progress’]. It’s more of a throwback to where we came from. [But] I don’t think there’s any rehashed riffs; I definitely think it’s fresh.”

Mushok goes on to reveal that the record was pretty “difficult” to make. “It was a tough one,” he says. “And it wasn’t even the music or writing it; it’s just that there were a lot of things going on, and it made for a long, drawn-out process, it seemed. But I’ll tell you what – looking back, now that it’s done, I’m really, really happy with it.”
