Staind have parted ways with drummer Jon Wysocki, who had been in the band since they formed in 1995.
“We wish him the best, and thank him for all the years he dedicated to Staind,” a statement from the band on their official website Staind.com read. They added that Evanescence drummer Will Hunt will be joining them on future tour dates until they found a permanent replacement.
No further details were given over the split on their website but guitarist Mike Mushok shed further light on Wysocki‘s exit, explaining that things “weren’t going the way the band wanted to” during recording sessions for their new album.
“17 years being a band together, we went to make the record, and it was tough,” he told Fuse TV. “Things weren’t really going the way we wanted [them] to. We tried to work through it, I think it just got to the point where we realised that we weren’t able to, and it was time to make a change.”
Staind‘s last album ‘The Illusion Of Progress’ was released in 2008.
