STARSAILOR have announced details of an intimate gig at a LONDON theatre to raise funds for a musical centre for the ROYAL NATIONAL INSTITUTE FOR THE BLIND.

Tickets for the 346-capacity show at Arts Theatre in the West End on September 2 are being auctioned through the charity on ebay, where fans will have the chance to bid for a chance to meet the band before the gig. Punters will also be able to bid for a host of other pop and rock memorabilia.

Signed Beatles, Clash and Coldplay memorabilia are also among the pop rarities being auctioned online to help raise funds towards a national music centre for the RNIB in the UK.

The Clash‘s ‘Give ‘Em Enough Rope’ LP and an original 12-inch of ‘Rock The Casbah’ signed by Joe Strummer, a batch of original Beatles vinyl signed by producer George Martin and trousers worn by Chris Martin in Coldplay‘s ‘Yellow’ video and signed by the singer are to be included.

The Soundscan campaign – to establish the centre in Redhill in Surrey for the blind to learn musical skills, from playing instruments to production – has already raised £35,000 towards the £100,000 that it hopes to amass via its ebay auctions. The total target for the campaign is £700,000.
