The legendary producer is just a really nice bloke, apparently...
STARSAILOR have spoken about the “enigma” surrounding PHIL SPECTOR – the man who has produced some of their second album.
Spector, who has become legendary for his ‘Wall Of Sound’ production style, and work with bands including John Lennon, John Lennon and The Ronettes, has recorded two songs with the band for the follow-up to ‘Love Is Here’.
Singer James Walsh explained how the sessions went. “He’s just an enigma really,” he told Radio 1. “What was great about him was how down to earth he was and how he treated this as important as recording with John Lennon and things.
“That’s not to be big-headed or anything, but he was still enthusiastic. It wasn’t like – ‘Oh gosh, I’ve got to do this band. Why couldn’t I have got the Bruce Springsteen album or something?'”
The band’s new album is set for release next year.
