The band spend time with the legendary producer at his LA home after he came to see them live - and he's interested in working with them...
Starsailor met up with a new fan last week in the middle of their current US tour – legendary producer PHIL SPECTOR, NME.COM can reveal.
The band were invited to Spector’s home last Saturday (January 12), after he had been to their show the night before at LA’s Palace. They spent two hours with him. It is understood that the normally reclusive producer is interested in working with the band at some point in the future, though the exact details of what this will involve are being guarded at present.
Spector, who invented the ‘wall of sound’ style of recording in the 60’s with acts such as The Ronnettes and Ike And Tina Turner, also helmed solo works by [/a] and [a]George Harrison as well producing Ramones. He is a tough taskmaster and is said to have occasionally brandished a gun to encourage some of his acts to perform.
