The Wigan quartet play a secret gig in Manchester in preparation for their tour with JJ72, Amen and Alfie...

STARSAILOR played an exclusive show last night (January 16) to warm up for their imminent appearance on the NME CARLING PREMIER AWARDS tour.

The hotly-tipped Wigan four-piece played a 30-minute set at Manchester Roadhouse, which included forthcoming debut single ‘Fever’, along with live favourites ‘Love Is Here’, ‘Lullaby’ and ‘Alcoholic’.

The show, which had only been publicised locally, was open to the public but a significant proportion of the crowd was made up of local bands, journalists and promoters, including nationwide leaders SJM.

The last-minute nature of the gig meant it was kept virtually a secret, with the 200-capacity venue’s listings calling the night ‘Available for hire.’ The packed-out show was unique from a band that have yet to release a record.

Starsailor appear on the forthcoming NME Carling Awards tour alongside JJ72, Amen and Alfie.
