Status Quo pull tour amid health scare

Guitarist Rick Parfitt has a growth in his larynx

Status Quo have cancelled their UK tour due to a health scare.

The band say that guitarist Rick Parfitt has been suffering from a throat problem. Last night’s date in Plymouth was pulled, and all subsequent dates are now off.

Band manager Simon Porter said: “This morning he saw Consultant Stephen Toynton ENT surgeon at the Nuffield Hospital in Plymouth who has expressed concern with a growth in Rick‘s larynx and has recommended that it requires urgent investigation.

“Consequently all 9 shows on the current sell out UK tour have been cancelled. Whilst the band obviously regret having to disappoint their fans they are thankful for their understanding at this difficult time and look forward to seeing them soon.”

None of the dates will be re-scheduled, although full refunds are available at the point of purchase.

Manchester Apollo (13)

Telford Arena (14)

Bournemouth BIC (16)
