Five new songs back 'Dark Wave'...

Stephen Malkmus have announced details of the first single off their new album ‘PIG LIB’.

‘Dark Wave’ is the lead track of a six-track CD and 10″

scheduled for release on April 28 through Domino.


The five new tracks are ‘Dynamic Calories’, ‘Fractions And Feelings’ and ‘Old Terry’, which were all recorded during the ‘Pig Lib’ sessions. The two other tracks were recorded live, a cover of Mellow Candle’s ‘The Poet And The Witch’ from Malmo, Sweden and ‘Shake It Around’ from Melbourne, Australia.

The release of ‘Dark Wave’ coincides with Stephen Malkmus‘ UK tour, which includes the two-night ‘Down The Dustpipe’ event at the Royal Festival Hall in London, as previously announced on NME.COM.

The 19th will also see a pre-concert performance on the ballroom floor by Wizz Jones, where The Buff Medways will also perform post-concert.
