Kelly Jones is interviewed too - expect BBC Wales to broadcast it in October...

STEREOPHONICS have performed two new as-yet-untitled songs for drummer STUART CABLE’s new chat show.

Kelly Jones was also interviewed by his bandmate for his programme, ‘Cable TV’, at this week’s taping in the Pop Factory studios in Porth, south Wales.

Fans will have to wait until October to see the performance on BBC Wales and related digital channels. The six-part series is expected to be networked across the UK later in the year.

The band were the final guests to appear in the series, which also features the drummer’s mother, Mabel Cable, as well as Francis Rossi of Status Quo, Peter Stringfellow, Neil and Christine Hamilton, and others.

Cable said: “It is very different from the job I do – it doesn’t involve hitting things. I thought it was going to get easier, but it hasn’t – but if you stop being nervous I think you get complacent. I try to ask the questions that guests would be asked if they went into a pub.”

He added: “Being in a band is definitely my main source of income. It’s what I have always wanted to do. We hope to do another series, but we will have to get it in quick as I am going to be busy next year.”
