JONES KEEPS UP

Kelly Jones provides, vocals, lyrics and guitar on Manchild's new single...

STEREOPHONICS’ KELLY JONES has lent vocals to ‘THE CLICHES ARE TRUE’, the new single from MANCHILD, due for release through ONE LITTLE INDIAN on August 28.

Jones penned the lyrics for the track on which he also plays guitar – an AC/DC-style heavy riff. Recorded in late 1998 at the same time as Stereophonics were doing sessions for ‘Performance and Cocktails’, it is being released in August ahead of ‘Untied States’, Manchild‘s debut long-player, due on September 11.

Jones is not the first rocker to have collaborated with the breakbeat-meets- metal-meets-acid house combo. Therapy?‘s Andy Cairns sang on ‘Rehab’, the band’s previous single released earlier this month.

Following their appearance at last weekend’s Glastonbury Festival (June 24), Manchild kicked-off a ten date UK tour last night (June 29) in Lancaster.
