KELLY JONES (pictured centre, right) was approached to audition for a part in the new film by Romeo & Juliet/ Strictly Ballroom director Baz Luhrman…but had to turn it down because filming coincided with his busy music schedule.
Speaking to Kerrang! magazine this week, Jones said that although he couldn’t do it and doubted his abilities as a thespian, it’s something he might consider in the future.
“Apparently Baz Luhrman saw me in a video in New York,” he said. “I was asked to do a private reading for a leading part in a Parisian love story. I don’t know what he thought about it. I don’t think I could ever act, but it’s a nice thought for the future. You’d probably make a shitload of money but lose every bit of credibilty…only Elvis can get away with doing films and songs…”
