STEREOPHONICS have revealed that they plan to do a series of all-seated gigs – similar to the sort of venues that KELLY JONES has been playing on his solo tour.
At a press conference this afternoon (November 24) in Rhondda, Wales, to confirm next summer’s two big outdoor UK gigs, Kelly mentioned that the full band hoped to do a UK tour in March.
This will be around the time of the release of their new album, ‘J.E.E.P.’. An official spokesperson was unable to confirm whether any dates for the gigs had been confirmed so far.
Kelly also revealed that he will be joined by his bandmates Richard Jones and Stuart Cable on stage for his gig at Cardiff Coal Exchange tonight.
All three band members were in relaxed form at the press conference this afternoon, which was held at The Pop Factory, a converted fizzy drinks factory which now hosts events. They said the album will be “quite ’70s, rocky sounding” and they would be bringing in more musicians to fill out their sound when they play live next year.
As previously revealed exclusively by NME.COM, the outdoor gigs, dubbed ‘A Day At The Races’, take place at Donington Race Course on July 14 and Chepstow Race Course on 21st.
