STEREOPHONICS vocalist KELLY JONES has decided to take a pianist on his forthcoming solo acoustic tour, not a second guitarist, as he previously announced.
Jones originally told Radio 1 the second guitarist who accompanies him on his forthcoming solo dates in November, will probably become the band’s second guitarist when they band tour their third studio album ‘JEEP (Just Enough Education To Perform)’. He said: “The band is probably going to become a five-piece by the time we start touring again, so whoever that person’s gonna be is probably gonna be the guy that I’ll take on the acoustic tour with me. That way, I can kill two birds with one stone. He can learn the parts with me before the band is actually involved in the process as well.”
However, that will now not be the case, and his sound will be boosted by piano. It is unclear whether the pianist will also play on the band’s full UK tour next year.
Jones will play solo dates at: Dublin Vicar St (November 13) Brighton Corn Exchange (15) Bath Pavilion (16) Glasgow Old Fruit Market (18) Edinburgh Queen’s Hall (19) York Opera House (21) Birmingham Irish Centre (22) Cardiff Coal Exchange (24)
Support will come from Davey Crockett from The Crocketts. All tickets for the solo shows have now sold out.
