Black Eyed Peas, Mary J Blige and Robert Downey Jr. also appear at New York show
Bruce Springsteen, Lady Gaga, Billy Joel and Stevie Wonder performed at a special charity concert in New York last night (October 1) to mark Sting‘s 60th birthday.
The gig at the city’s Beacon Theatre also included performances from Hollywood actor Robert Downey, Jr., Black Eyed Peas‘s will.i.am and Mary J. Blige.
Sting appeared on stage with Gaga to duet on ‘King Of Pain’. He also sang The Police hit ‘Can’t Stand Losing You’ with Springsteen, reports the Daily Mail.
He wrapped up the show by performing ‘Every Breath You Take’ with all the artists onstage. The evening raised more than $3.7 million (£2.5 million) for the Robin Hood Foundation charity.
Sting officially celebrates his 60th birthday today (October 2). He is currently co-writing a musical based around the lives of people in his home city of Newcastle.
